Hello!
Don't think the gap between posts means I'm not keeping busy. I've got a bit of a queue but I'm doing my best to address all the emails and comments related to the Lightbox scripts. And yes, I really should have setup a messageboard of some sorts. Next time.
There are new projects in the works as well. More info shortly.

If you're considering in setting up a board I suggest you take a look at PunBB - It's simple, uses web standards and it's free!

Is their any chance you could get the PNG background to appear more smoothly and before the actual image holder appears?
As it appears a couple millasecs after the main border appears, and kinda shows up stuttered unlike the rest which is all nice transitions.
THANKS

PunBB uses web standards?
Take a look at the validation of the CSS of their demo forum: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A//punbbig.shacknet.nu/
4 errors.
And I guess the HTML validates – that is, if you call HTML 4.01 Transitional a high standard.
And if we validate it with XHTML 1.0 Strict? (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpunbbig.shacknet.nu%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=XHTML+1.0+Strict) 24 errors.
It's going to be pretty difficult to find forum software that complies with modern standards. I kind of gave up when looking for standards-compliant forum software, and so I went with phpBB. I like it because it's very customizable.
Anyways, new projects! Exciting! I really like your work so far – I'm a big user of Lightbox.
Thanks for your work,
-Julian

I think your web-site design is really beautiful.
Also, the 2.02 version of Lightbox rocks. I got some of it at www.haf.se/cv (always interesting to see your code being implemented…) - feel free to have a look.
Best wishes

please Lokesh, please, if you really want to put a message board or forum forget about all that really slow and clumsy navigation of the phpbbs garbage, please look out to implement the incredible fast forward and customizable behive forum platform.
this platform is based onf the original and groundbreaking delphi forum platform that really has not been upgraded since the 2000, that is why this is the option to follow. if you want to see a behive forum in action look no furthar than http://the-engine.com that is the Warren Ellis Forum.
there is a link from there to the behivee project page.

I don;t know why people can't find a standards compliant message board. Check out http://www.jaia-interactive.com/support in your validators.
I know it's only XHTML 1.0 Transitional and not Strict, but it's a message board with thousands of moving parts for crying out loud - you've got to draw the line somewhere! ;)

Yet another option for a forum is the very light and fast Vanilla from LUssumo. I don't work for them, just find their board one of the best out of many I have tried and tested…

I agree with Neil. Vanilla is a great forum engine.
Also, great work Lokesh, I'm in the process of adding Lightbox to my site.

Your (great) work will help me to convince my students there is a life out of M$Powerpoint, and totally web compliant ! Just a few samples of use in these pages of the wiki farm I built over "rowiki", the smallest wiki engine I know :

Very impressive script… but I NEED HELP!!!
I previously saw where someone had posted a modified script on this msg board with tabbed/gallery functionality. I designed a static example of what his modified script resembled at: http://www.mysticonline.com/dev/lightbox_mod.jpg
I’ve gone through most of the msgs and can’t locate the original post with the mod script web address. Can someone tell me where to find it?
Basically, I’m trying to get the script to cycle through multiple images of independent galleries when only displaying one text link or thumbnail for each gallery.
I’d like to list multiple party dates (galleries) plus one thumbnail each as links, each of which will contain 40-80 photos in each gallery (sets), and when the user clicks on any date, it will launch the lightbox which in turn displays the specific gallery and all related photos in the set. The tabs at the top of the lightbox allow the user to switch between galleries without having to close the lightbox.
Example:
• Party #1 Jan 10th (one clickable thumbnail here)
…[this would link to gallery #1 containing 40 related photos in the set]
• Party #2 Feb 14th (one clickable thumbnail here)
…[this would link to gallery #2 containing 60 related photos in the set]
• Party #3 Mar 5th (one clickable thumbnail here)
…[this would link to gallery #3 containing 80 related photos in the set]
Etc….
Someone please help!

Hi Lokesh,
You have produced an excellent script. I'm very grateful.
It looks great on IE6 and Firefox, but fails to work on the IE7 beta 2 and works without transparency on Opera. Do you have plans to support these at all?

I agree with the first comment. PunBB is the way to go. It is the easiest forms that I have found for integrating into an existing website design (also wordpress). Vanilla is plain, boring and lacking features.
